Communicate with engineering and operations teams to investigate root causes of cost anomalies across AWS and AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI).
Prepare clear, data-driven cost optimization proposals for engineering leads.
Documentation & Governance:
Keep internal FinOps documentation, tagging guidelines, and cost-allocation frameworks clean and up to date.
Implement and maintain resource tagging strategies for accountability and transparency.
Automation & Engineering (Growth Scope):
Contribute to building internal cost optimization and monitoring automations.
Participate in R&D initiatives to build custom AI agents for automated cost tracking and anomaly prevention.
Help design and maintain shared Terraform modules.
Risk Management:
Monitor for and mitigate risks related to overprovisioning, misconfigurations, and unforeseen spending.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, cloud usage guidelines, and AI service budgets.
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Expertise:
Understanding of AWS services and pricing models (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
Proficiency with AWS cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets) and familiarity with AI provider usage/billing (Anthropic, OpenAI).
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and an interest in building shared modules or AI tools.
Operational Acumen:
Experience in root cause analysis of cost anomalies and in drafting structured proposals.
Strong attention to detail regarding internal documentation and cost tracking.
Knowledge of FinOps practices, frameworks, and cost allocation principles.
