As a Senior FinOps Engineer specializing in AWS, you will be responsible for optimizing cloud costs, implementing financial management best practices, and driving efficiency across the organization's cloud operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and business stakeholders, to ensure the organization's AWS infrastructure is cost-effective and aligned with business objectives.

YOUR IMPACT:

• Cloud Cost Optimization:
  • Analyze AWS usage and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain resource tagging strategies for accountability and transparency!
  • Recommend and enforce policies to manage reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instance utilization.
• Cloud Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage cloud cost dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility to stakeholders!
  • Track and forecast cloud spending, ensuring alignment with budgets and forecasts.
  • Create chargeback and showback models for accurate cost allocation.
• Collaboration and Strategy:
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to design cost-efficient cloud architectures.
  • Educate and train teams on AWS cost management tools and practices.
  • Participate in vendor negotiations for cost management and usage agreements.
• Process Improvement:
  • Automate cost monitoring and remediation processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Establish governance frameworks to maintain optimal cloud utilization.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on trends and analytics.
• Risk Management:
  • Monitor for and mitigate risks related to overprovisioning, misconfigurations, and unforeseen spending.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and cloud usage guidelines.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and pricing models (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS)!
  • Proficiency with AWS cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Trusted Advisor).
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or AWS CLI).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Financial Acumen:
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
  • Experience with FinOps practices, frameworks, and tools (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, Spot by NetApp ).
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineering, finance, and leadership teams.
